PiReM Electricity With the commodification of “electricity“ - which had been traded monopolistically for decades - resulting from EU ordinances on the liberalization of the electricity market, utility companies have been confronted with radical changes in the market for the past decade. On the one hand, the companies were required to take internal measures in support of an incentive-oriented regulation. On the other hand, new suppliers, in terms of the enforcement of contraction of the regulatory body, broke into the market at the same time. With tougher competition, regulated caps on prices and revenues, along with rising operating costs and the demand for optimum quality of service, utility companies continue to be forced to make drastic management decisions.
